In its regularly scheduled meetings the Student Council passes or denies funding requests from registered student organizations, legislation affecting WSU students and the university community, as well as the council’s own By laws. Other business often includes special presentations, appointments to various university committees, and the hearing of reports of Council Members.

WSU Student Council meetings are held at least once per month. Meetings are governed by Roberts Rules of Order and are open to the public as per the Michigan Open Meetings Act of 1976.
