About Us
The Wayne State University Student Council is the representative governing body of WSU students. The Council achieves its mission through researching issues that affect the student body and the university as a whole, as well as the surrounding community. Proposed solutions to these issues are then referred to the university administration.
The Council also allocates financial resources to registered student organizations (RSO’s) for expenses related to the fulfillment of their respective missions.
Currently the SC is composed of 24 members whom are chosen to serve as follows:
• 12 Members at Large elected through university-wide elections each Winter semester
• One representative chosen from each of WSU’s ten schools and colleges
• One representative chosen to serve on behalf of the Residence Hall Association
• One representative chosen to serve on behalf of WSU’s extension center campuses
Executive Officers:
At the first meeting of a newly seated Student Council, parliamentary elections are held to determine executive officer positions, of which there are nine (9) total. The council’s executive offices are as follows:

• Vice President
• Parliamentarian
• Treasurer
• Secretary
• Community Affairs Committee Chairperson
• Inter-Governmental Affairs Committee Chairperson
• Student Services Committee Chairperson
• Program Board Chairperson.
